  • Project turnarounds are completely dependent on the project scope and deliverables, however in general, Courtney Ahn Design offers a very fast and efficient approach to design projects. The average estimate for an identity design is 4 weeks, a website is 6 weeks, and an illustration project is 2 weeks. Most quick deadlines can be accommodated with proper notice, quick client feedback, and an additional rush fee.

  • Depending on the conditions defined in your project agreement, you are entitled exclusive reproduction rights when the project is completed and paid in full. Generally, full artwork property rights are not designated unless specially requested. Client will typically receive unlimited rights to use artwork for their brand, but will be restricted on usage for reselling on products or handing off to other entities.

  • All projects below $400 require full payment prior to project start. All design projects above $400 require an approximate 50% project deposit as designated by your project agreement. Project deposits are refundable in the case of project cancellation after the current project hours have been totaled to calculate the refunded amount.

  • Yes, additional services, such as extra versions, explorations, or complementary designs may be added on to the project estimate anytime during the project. If the service is deemed too large to qualify as an add on service, a separate project agreement may be required.

  • You may cancel the project at anytime, however you are still responsible for payment of all design services/hours up to date. Given the cancellation of a project, all design deliverables must be returned to designer, prohibiting any use by client.

  • The preferred payment method is Paypal, directly to hello@courtneyahndesign.com. Other digital payment methods, such as Venmo, can be used with prior approval of designer. Checks are accepted on a case by case basis for larger organizations.

  • A digital concept is a fully-fleshed digital logo concept (which may include 1-3 individuals designs: primary, secondary, social logos). Depending on your chosen identity package, there may be anywhere from 5 to 12 digital concepts.

  • The starter guidelines are an un-branded version of your visual documentation, while the professional identity guidelines are visually customized to your new brand, making them perfect for handing off in your organization for further use. The professional guidelines also has a few additional pages that are unique to the Everything Brand Starter Pack deliverables that dive further into collateral usage.

  • A type system is a collection of 2-3 commercially sourced fonts to be used in conjunction with your new identity system on print collateral, digital media, and everywhere else to create consistency for your brand! The system is denoted into the following type categories: header, subheader, body, button 1, button 2, and accent.

  • A moodboard is a visual representation of the “mood” or style direction for your project. This typically looks like a collection of images, typography, and design elements to create a curated board. Identity projects feature two moodboard directions to choose from.

  • These are supporting logos designed for different orientations and use cases. Depending on the orientation of your final primary logo, the secondary is typically the opposite orientation (vertical vs horizontal) to give you flexibility across media and channels. A social logo is catered to small-scale use (like social profile photos and website favicons) and is typically an icon or monogram version of your logo.
